My Adventure Abroad:
Miami to Mysore

Hi, my name is Melissa Villegas! I am currently an undergraduate student attending Florida International University (FIU) majoring in Psychology and on the pre-Physician Assistant track. I plan to pursue a master's in Physician Assistant Studies and later specialize in pediatrics.

I am very excited about my journey abroad as this presents the perfect opportunity to broaden my horizons and expand my knowledge of healthcare systems in other parts of the world.

My main focus of research while studying in India includes the topic of sex trafficking among women and girls as well as the accessibility, affordability, and delivery of healthcare in India in comparison to the United States. I have been interested in these topics for a while, and I hope to learn more about them abroad.
